1. Altay and Isabella on Hwy 1 picking up my bags, bringing coffee, food and a sign
2. Alyssa and Chris at mile 75 with big smiles and support every 20 miles
3. A posh hotel in Monterey. I had to think about my new vocabulary.

Barb's lens
H
ad a great trip to this area a few years ago with Tamara, my Mom and Grandmother. We watched whales migrate and enjoyed taking pictures along the way. Mom LOVED seafood. I'd take her to Phils fish market in Moss Landing, CA. She got to meet Phil during one of her visits and you'd think she was talking to a celebrity! She loved him! We picked up a signed Phil big and gave it to my grandma tht folliwing Christmas.

The long story
T
hats just it. Today was long and hilly! 136 miles and almost 10k feet of climing. Hwy 1 and the coast are breathtaking! It felt so good to be near the ocean again. Tomorrow is the last segment from Monterey to Half Moon Bay. Alyssa dn Chris will both be on the road with me tomorrow. It will be nice to have som company tomorrow!

Hope to see the rest of you tomorrow night at my place in Half Moon Bay!

Your Pal,
Chris

I can almost feel that feeling you get when you're nearing the end of a nasty race and all you want is for it to be over...then you see someone up ahead cheering you on and that rush of energy can't be explained physically. So glad you had support! Have a good last day. Sorry I can't be there for the reunion party!

Reading your blog has been uplifting and a high point of each day for me. I'm glad you took on this adventure and shared it with all of us readers. Re-entry into the "real" world will be weird.

Sorry can't be there to cheer you home today, have to be in too many places at once today.
